We had a wonderful time in Tibet. We have learned a lot about this unique destination because of the wonderful guide Degyi who is so knowledge and always available towards our tours. We stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel Lhasa, and we would never imagine a Tibet travel could be so nice and amazing without the help of Degyi.
Also, thanks a lot to our Tibetan driver Mr.Wongdun for his safe driving and a good sense of service along the way.
We shall return Tibet in the near future!

Day01 Arrival Beijing | ||
Day02 Beijing (B, L) Enjoy your buffet breakfast at your hotel. Today you will have a day guided tour to explore Beijing. This morning the tour begins with a visit of the Temple of Heaven, located in the southern part of Beijing, and has been one of the most holy places for the whole country for more than five centuries. It used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors, and is the largest one in Beijing among several royal altars to Heaven, Earth, the Sun, the Moon and other deities or symbolic forces of Nature. Then you will take a walking in the iconic Tiananmen Square, which is probably the biggest one of its kind in the world. From here you will go on to the Forbidden City (also known officially as the Imperial Palace Museum ) was commissioned by the third Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yong Le. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 1700's and on wards. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction in China. The total area of the complex is 183 acres, so it takes quite a while to walk through, especially if you want to have a close look at everything. All together there are 9,999 1/2 rooms in the Museum, not all of which can be visited.
| ||
Day04 Beijing / Xian (B, L) This morning you will take a unique Hutong tour by a rickshaw to discover the old residential area of Beijing. Hutongs are closely associated with individual four-sided courtyard in which people live. Most Hutongs are running east west for the local dwellers to procure the sunlight. Afterwards you will visit the Summer Palace. Located at the northwest suburb of Beijing, the Summer Palace was originally a royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty, Its predecessor was the Garden of Clear Ripples (Qingyiyuan) started in 1750 and burned down by the British and French allied troops in 1860. In 1886, Empress Dowager Cixi used navy outlays and other funds in the reconstruction and renamed the park as Summer Palace in 1888.The Summer Palace in northwest suburban Beijing is the largest and most complete imperial garden existing in China. Later of the day you will be transferred to airport for a flight to Xian and upon arrival your guide will meet you and escort you to hotel in town.
Day05 Xian (B, L) Your Xian tour begins with the mighty Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. Discovered in 1974, Xian Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Site is one of the most important archaeological finds in the 20th century. In a vault of approximately 12,000m2 and 5m underground lay some 8,000 terracotta infantry soldiers, archers, cavalrymen and chariots arranged in battle formation, ready to defend their emperor's immortal soul. After the visit you will have a very good local lunch at a graceful restaurant. Then you will head back town and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Situated inside Ci'en Temple (4 kilometers south of Xian City), it is one of the famous Buddhist pagodas in China. Sponsored by Tang Emperor Gaozong (628-683, reigned 650-683), the temple was first built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty as a symbol of thanksgiving to his mother for her kindness who had suffered an early death. Later of the day your guide will take you to the city center to see the Bell Tower of Xian. The Bell Tower was built in 1384 during the reign of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of Ming Dynasty as a way to dominate the surrounding countryside and provide early warning of attack by rival rulers.
Day06 Xian / Chengdu (B, L) This morning you will pay a visit to the Ancient City Wall of Xian. Built 600 years ago (1374 - 1378) in the Ming Dynasty, the Wall was added on the Tang Dynasty walls. Being the most prominent walls built after medieval time, it is also the best-kept and biggest city walls in Xian. Then you will visit the Grand Mosque and walk on the famous Muslin food market. In the afternoon you will be transferred to airport and take flight to Chengdu, the hometown to the Giant Pandas. Be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day07 Chengdu (B, L) Visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where you can find the cute giant pandas and learn more about their daily life. Then you will visit Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu. Afterwards you will take a walk on the ancient Broad and Narrow Alleys in Chengdu's old quarter.
Day08 Chengdu (B, L) Today you will make a trip to famous Leshan Giant Buddha Statue. Leshan Giant Buddha is the largest Buddha in the world, about 71 meters high. It is a statue of Maitreya (a Bodhisattva usually represented as a very stout monk with a broad smile on his face and with his naked breast and paunch exposed to view) in sitting posture. It started to be carved in 713 A.D and finished 90 years later. Facing the river, the Buddha has symmetrical posture and looks which have been beautifully captured in its solemn stillness. It has three-meter-long (about 11 feet) fingers. The eight-meter-long (about 27 feet) instep is big enough for one hundred people to sit on and the 28-meter-wide (about 92 feet) shoulder is large enough to be a basketball playground. You will be astonished by its grace. You will visit Buddhist Linyun Temple which was created in the Chinese Tang Dynasty locates on the hilltop nearby the Giant Buddha Statue. Afterwards take a boat cruise on the Min River (Minjiang) to observe the Giant Buddha from a floating perspective. Transfer back your hotel in Chengdu.
| ||
Day10 Guilin (B, L) Guilin is perhaps China's most scenic city. It is no doubt that the best way to enjoy its picturesque scenery is from a floating deck of a luxury cruise on the Li River. Your guide and driver will transfer you from your hotel to Zhujiang Pier to board your wonderful river cruise tour to Yangshuo. Li River, also known as Guishui River or Gui River, takes its source at Mao'er Mountain in Xing'an County, which lies to northeast Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Li River makes its way through Guilin and Yangshuo and merges into Xijiang River in Wuzhou. The mountains on the banks over 40 kilometers long between Guilin and Yangshuo display their extraordinary beauty as a result of the development of the limestone. More than 40,000 hills lie along the two sides of the river, covering a total length of more than 150 kilometers. With their astonishing resemblance to bamboo shoot, screen, elephant and camel, these mountains, together with green banyans and green bamboo as well as the cottages and fishing boats, contribute to form a scenery picture depicting a haven of peace dominated by green. After a 4.5 hours cruise on the river you will finally make disembarkation at Yangshuo and enjoy some relax time at the West Street. Later of the day you will be transferred back Guilin city.
Day11 Guilin / Shanghai (B, L) This morning you continue your tour in Guilin. Make a trip to the Fubo Hill. You can see lots of rock stone carvings & Buddha statues dated back to the Chinese Tang Dynasty. Have a wonderful bird's-eye view of Guilin city if you climb to the summit. After that you will be transferred to airport for your flight to Shanghai. On arrival Shanghai, your guide will meet you and escort you to town for a walking tour to the famous Nanjing Road and the Bund. Nanjing Road is Shanghai's most hustle and bustle pedestrian street. The Bund is without question one of the most popular Shanghai attractions. This waterfront area, which runs for about a mile along the Huangpu River, forms the easternmost boundary of Old Shanghai, and here you can gaze at buildings of various architectural styles.
Day12 Shanghai (B, L) You have a day guided trip to explore the city of Shanghai. You will visit the Jade Buddha Temple. As Shanghai's most popular temple with visitors, the Jade Buddha complex has an exceedingly short history, having been completed in 1918, but it exudes a powerful potion of thick incense, flashy decorations, and a dark, seedy atmosphere that makes it seem centuries older. After that you will proceed to the Shanghai Museum. The Shanghai Museum contains more than 112,000 Chinese cultural relics from the Old Stone Age to modern times, including bronze ware, calligraphy, paintings etc. Then you will continue to visit Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan garden is the most famous garden in south China and decorated with beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rock formations. Later in the afternoon your guide will take you to the Oriental Pearl Tower where you may have a stunning skyline of the townscape Shanghai.
Day13 Suzhou Tour (B, L) Transfer to Suzhou by your private vehicle and guide escort. It is shortly a less than 2hr drive from Shanghai. Upon arrival Suzhou, you will visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest classical garden in Suzhou and one of the four famous gardens in China. The garden's scenery is focused on a central pond with various buildings of pavilions, terraces, chambers, and towers located by the water or on hillocks in a natural, unsophisticated, and appropriate composition. The garden is most representative of Chinese classical gardens in the Ming Dynasty. It was laid out in 1513 by the censor, Wang Xiancheng, after his retirement from political life. Then you will take a cruise on the Grand Canal that ranks alongside the Great Wall of China as the country's greatest engineering achievement and it is the longest man-made waterway in the world. After that you will visit the Tiger Hill that has been the favorite place for poets, writers and painters in various times. The hill is moderate height but has large number of historical relics. The 1000- year- old leaning pagoda atop is looked upon as the landmark of Suzhou. Later of the day you will be transferred back your hotel in Shanghai.
