The celebration consists of three major activities: "Himalayas National Climbing Tournament Lhasa Stop", "The 2nd Himalayas Mountaineering Forum", and "The 1st Himalayas Photograph Works Exhibition".
The climbing competition includes difficulty competition and rock climbing competition.
During the forum, domestic mountaineering experts will be invited to lecture on how to seek harmony between human activities and the nature in Himalayas mountain-climbing.
Moreover, the exhibition will present beautiful mountainous scenery of Himalayas, its exotic cultural view and human explorations on snow-capped mountains.
The celebration was jointly held by the State General Administration of Sport, Tibet Sport Bureau, and Tibet Mountain-climbing Expedition.
Nepalese mountain-climber Tenzing Noguez and New Zealander Edmund Hilary reached Mt. Qomolangma peak on May 29, 1953, starting world's history of Qomolangma mountain-climbing.
