A Nadam Fair featuring national and international motorcycle events will kick off on July 20 in Baotou, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, according to a spokesman Friday.
The 80-day fair, showing traditional Mongolian culture and sports, will hold not only traditional competitions including the Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery, but also the a national motorcycle championship and an international motorcycle event, which will be held for the first time in Inner Mongolia, said Ru yaoqiang, a local sports official.
The Nadam Fair field in the city occupies about 1,133 square kilometers, with 6400 seats and a 1600-meter-long horseracing runway.
Nadam Fair was named as China's non-material cultural heritage in 2006, with a meaning of entertainment in the Mongolian language.
