How to Book China tour

We had a wonderful time in Tibet. We have learned a lot about this unique destination because of the wonderful guide Degyi who is so knowledge and always available towards our tours. We stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel Lhasa, and we would never imagine a Tibet travel could be so nice and amazing without the help of Degyi.

Also, thanks a lot to our Tibetan driver Mr.Wongdun for his safe driving and a good sense of service along the way.

We shall return Tibet in the near future!

The Sichuan - Tibet HighwayThe Sichuan -- Tibet Highway is the longest road, which further divided into the Northern and Southern Route.

The southern route goes to Litang, onwards to Batang and crossing over the Golden Sand River (Upper Yangtze River) before getting to Markam in Tibet where joins the Yunnan-Tibet Highway. The road from Markham to Nyingtri (Bayi Town) over 800km is of the highlight of the entire route, the natural sceneries changing and are diverse. From Markam it is 160km to Dzogang and a further 200km to Basum. During this stretch, the road crosses a concertina landscape, crossing the upper reaches of the Mekong (Lancang) and Salween (Nu Jiang). From Bashu the road swings southwards 90km to Ranwu and then follows the river valley 129km to Bome. By now the scenery is lush, forested and alpine and the drive from Tongmai to Nyingchi is the most beautiful one of the trip, passing frozen waterfalls and crossing several 5000m plus passes, with views of the 7756m Namche Barwa to the southeast. From Bayi town it is just 40km to Lhasa, passing the turn-off to Draksum Lake (Basong Tso) after 79km and the town of Kongpo Gyamda (Gongbujiangda) after 128km.

The northern route involves a detour off the southern road just west of Kangding, traveling via Dege and Chamdo and rejoining the southern route around Basum. From Kangding drive 305km northwest to Garze (Ganzi), a monastery town. From here it is 207km west, past the 4916m pass of Mount. Chola (6168m), to Dege, which is noted for the Dege Printing House. It is 339km from Dege to the large town of Chamdo, and a further 170km from Chamdo southwards to the southern route. A little-trafficked route heads due east from Chamdo via Denchen, Bachen and Nagqu to Lhasa.
